Does repoprep upload my code to a server?

No. All file processing happens entirely inside your browser using native Web APIs. Your files never leave your device.

What AI tools does repoprep work with?

repoprep generates a plain-text context file that works with any AI tool that accepts pasted text — including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, and others.

Is the Pro plan a subscription?

No. The Pro plan is a one-time payment of $5 USD. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges. Your licence is perpetual.

What file types does repoprep support?

repoprep supports project folders, ZIP archives, individual code files, PDFs, and most plain-text documents.

Do I need an account to use repoprep?

No account is needed for the free plan. Pro users verify their licence with the purchase email — no sign-up or password required.

Privacy Policy

Your code is yours. We have no technical ability to read, store, or transmit your files — because we never receive them.

🔒 The short version: repoprep runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded anywhere. The only personal data we ever receive is the email address you optionally provide to verify a Pro licence.

1. What We Collect

Your files — nothing. All processing is done client-side using browser APIs. Files never leave your device.
Email address (Pro users only). Submitted when you verify a Pro licence. Used solely to confirm your purchase with Lemon Squeezy — not stored in a database on our end.
Licence status. After verification, your Pro status is saved in your browser's localStorage for up to 30 days. This never leaves your device.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard request metadata: IP address, user-agent, URL, and response status. These are not linked to your files.

2. How We Use It

We use the above data only to verify Pro licences, keep the service running, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or behavioural profiling.

3. Payments

Pro licences are processed by Lemon Squeezy. When you purchase, you're redirected to their hosted checkout — repoprep never sees your card details. Lemon Squeezy's handling of your payment data is governed by their own Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We don't use tracking or analytics cookies. We use localStorage only to remember your Pro status between sessions. This data:

Stays on your device only — never sent to our servers.
Expires automatically after 30 days.
Can be cleared anytime via "Log out" in the header or your browser's site data settings.

Vercel may set a minimal technical cookie for traffic routing. It contains no personal information.

6. Data Retention

Your files — never stored; processing is entirely in-memory.
Your email — used transiently for verification and not persisted.
localStorage — expires after 30 days or on logout.
Server logs — retained per Vercel's standard policy (~30 days).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or export personal data we hold. Given how little we collect, most requests are straightforward. Email us at support@repoprep.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

8. Security

The biggest security property of repoprep is by design: your files never reach a server, so there's nothing to breach. The minimal data that does pass through our API (licence verification) is transmitted over HTTPS and not persisted.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
